Our new building is pretty cool. And designed almost perfectly.
Several years ago I wrote a paper for grad school on designing a creative workspace. All the studies I read, and all of the people I talked to had similar things to say. I visited several offices. I drew some conclusions of my own.
Our building looks exacly like it should look. Workspaces that are very open and customized to each person's job function. A lot of open areas -- some very parklike. Cubbyholes for privatacy if you need to crank out work. A rooftop outside patio area that has a spectacular view of the dowtown skyline. A second area that has a separate overlook. Individual client rooms that were built for colaboration. Games to keep our minds from exploding by thinking too much. Comfortable furniture. And creative people surrounding other creative people.
It's a great recipe for success. And it's nearly texbook. Good for us. I'm looking forward to the next step in our innovative workspace.
