Congratulations Brent and friends at the KC Pet Project!!! Whenever I hear people saying that they can't change their kill numbers because too many pets come into their shelter/program I always refer them back to the KC Pet Project and remind them that if one organization can make these sort of changes than any organization can anywhere.

Good on ya for proving so many people wrong that no-kill/low-kill is impossible!!! Keep up the great work because there are a lot of organizations out there who still need to be proven wrong and the longer you do it successfully the more wrong we are proving them to be!!!

Great job in 2014. Doing the right thing is not always the easiest. When other shelters turn animals away KCPP steps up and takes them in. Too old, too sick or too pitty. Each animal gets a chance. Thank you!

Unbelievable!!! Thank you so much, Brent and your many KCPP collaborators, for working so hard and thinking so smart!

So inspiring. So exemplary. Proud to call you friends.

Brent,

How how many pitbulls entered and left alive in 2014?

I know you may not have the data broken out that way.

Thanks.

Brent

Carol,

We took in 1,486 dogs classified as pit bulls last year (26% of our dog population)

708 were adopted
301 were returned to owner
118 transferred to other rescue groups
245 were euthanized
the LRR for pit bulls was 81%
