Boomer has found his forever home.
Many of of you may remember Boomer's story.
Boomer was one of over 100 dogs that was found abandoned and abused on some rural acreage in Kay County, OK.
While many of the dogs were not given a second chance, the good folks at Bad Rap and with Mid America Bully Breed Rescue went down to help these dogs, and several made it into these two rescue groups.
Over the course of the last 18 months, Boomer has spent a lot of time at my home as my wife and I have alternated fostering duties with another MABBR volunteer. The new experiences were good for Boomer -- who got his name from a contest on this blog.
Boomer made remarkable improvements over time -- while still skittish, he is now able to enjoy spending time with other dogs and with his people.
And the transformation has been fun to watch.
The little guy has been through a lot -- and has come out in great shape. His new owners have two other dogs (pictured with Michelle and I left) who were also abuse cases that they've worked with to make them very well balanced dogs. They have a 2 year old dog that has already fallen in love with "Boom-dog" -- which is pretty cute.
If you want to read more about Boomer's story you can check it out here - and MABBR has pics of their Kay County dogs at training classes and Donna has a good report of the original situation down in Kay County. MABBR also has a photo galary of the dogs as they were found in Kay County.
But I won't dwell on all of that now -- because Boom-dog is in a great spot right now -- and enjoying time with his new family. Every dog deserves a fair evaluation and a chance at finding his forever home.
YAY for Boomer! I love happy endings :)

Awwww, great story! I love hearing some of the happy endings, especially since I read so many not so great stories every day.
We purposely used a Pittie in our new PSA. Sort of 2 birds with one stone.... promoting No Kill Houston but also promoting how wonderful Pitties are (and Peanut is a real star). Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDJIfQ0gxbQ

Yay for Boomer! He's a little pipsqueak compared to those Bassets, I love it!

He found what looks like a great home with loving "parents," a "sister," and two doggie buds. What more could a dog ask for?
