I reported on this attck in a weekly roundup a couple weeks back. Back on March 28th, 48 year old Gordon Lykins was walking along one of the many irrigation canals that run the Phoenix metro area that are regularly used by walkers when a pack of dogs attacked him. Initial reports were that he was in critical condition and would likely have to have a leg amputated. However, on Friday, Mr. Lykins passed away at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Authorities are unsure about what dogs were responsible for the attacks because Lykins was never able to identify them....however, the dogs that are believed to be responsible are 11 "mixed breeds" that lived at one address that were believed to have all escaped at around that time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lykins family.
This is tragic! 11 dogs in one home is excessive, and the fact that they were dangerous and loose. My heart goes out to this mans family.

actually, Winterhaven is a city in California, about 10 mins from Yuma, Arizona where he died and where I live. We are about 2 1/2 hours from the Phoenix area. Just to clear that up for you.
