Here's a note from my friends in Ohio -- the state has taken another step forward in potentially repealing its state-wide ordinance that deems all "pit bulls' dangerous. This is certainly good news that the state seems to be moving forward.
PLEASE Crosspost!!
The Ohio House Committee for Infrastructure, Homeland Security and Veteran's Affairs is hearing proponent testimony concerning House Bill 366 which will REMOVE the breed specific language from the Ohio Revised Code regarding vicious dogs. We can't let this die in committee. The testimony is scheduled on Wednesday, January 23rd at 2:00 PM (exact room, to follow).
Canine Advocates of Ohio is asking for any constituents of the members of this committee to please attend to show your support for this bill and encourage your legislators to vote it out of committee. If you do not know if you are a member of any of these districts you can go to: http://www.house.state.oh.us/jsps/Representatives.jsp
If you need any further information go to: http://www.canineadvocatesofohio.org
This is great news for Ohio and hopefully it may influence other States into revisiting their legislation on "Pit Bulls".
I have a good feeling about this year.
I feel change is coming.

Thanks you so much for posting this and for keeping up on dog issues throughout the US. I attended the Canine Advocates of Ohio meeting this past week and brought up your name numerous times for reference information around dog and pit bull issues. I agree with Mac's Gang that this may be the year of change!

Carianne -- keep fighting. This would obvioulsy be huge for the good people of Ohio and I think would make a huge statement for all of us, everywhere. And thanks for the kind words...they're always appreciated!
And yes, Mac, I agree. I think there are a lot of things setting up very nicely for the bullies this year. My fingers are firmly crossed.
