Carrie

Your blog came up in one of the google alerts I have, and then I got this press release, dated Jan. 8 - "Members of the public are invited to make comments on a proposed measure which would ban pit bull dog breeds from all Johnson County Park and Recreation District parks and facilities.
A public hearing on the matter has been set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, in the Board Room of the District's Administration Building, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee.
Following the hearing, the Board is expected to consider formal action on the proposed pit bull ban as part of the agenda for its regular January meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24, also in the Board Room of the Administration Building."
I'm sure you can find the rest of the details at www.jcprd.com. Just thought you might be interested.

Thanks for the update Carrie...you can expect that I'll have some constructive thoughts on this as we get closer to the meeting date. I'll also be attending this one in person.

It's quite interesting what all of the hysteria will do to people where they would consider taking park space away from the citizens that help pay for it with their tax money. I can pretty much assure you that people who take their dogs to the park are almost never the people who's dogs are causing problems.

But I'll get to that rant later in a few days.
