Elk

Last month, we were down Elk watching in the Boxley Valley and stumbled across this guy.  That evening we counted just under 100 elk grazing in the valley --- it truly was a sight to behold.

 Some of the best wildlife viewing in the area is in the Boxley Valley (essentially along the stretch of highway 43 between Ponca and Boxley).

While this is a spectacular place to catch Elk in the early mornings and late evenings, it is also usually home to a couple of Trumpeter Swans that hang out on one of the large ponds along the stretch.  They always seem so peaceful.
