Some of the best wildlife viewing in the area is in the Boxley Valley (essentially along the stretch of highway 43 between Ponca and Boxley).
While this is a spectacular place to catch Elk in the early mornings and late evenings, it is also usually home to a couple of Trumpeter Swans that hang out on one of the large ponds along the stretch. They always seem so peaceful.
