I love this paragraph. From Seth's blog today. The topic of his post has nothing to do with the topic of this blog. But kind of it does. Here's the paragraph:
"Vivid is not the same as true. It's far easier to amplify sudden and horrible outcomes than it is to talk aobut the slow, grinding reality of day to day strife. That's human nature....
'This chart unsettles a lot of people, because there must be something wrong with it. Further proof of how easy it is to fear the unknown and accept what we've got."
I have to say I was stunned by the chart he posted. We can all become victims of it.
I've talked about this before in this space, but clearly there is a difference between how we think using our head vs using our gut. The gut can be a very powerful influencer. It's why we should avoid panic policy making and instead, led the actual data lead our decisions....not our gut.
