Um. Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it. :)

I am not quite getting this one. Is that a compliment or was she not being so nice?

For those that haven't read the news today or are Canadians. ;-)
Sarah Palin is a self described hockey mom. She said this during her acceptence speach for her nomination as Vice President of the United States. People were holding up "hockey mom" signs at the RNC in support of Palin.

Ha! Love the photoshopping skills! Stella looks so fancy w/ lipstick, very chic!
It's absolutely a compliment! She is a hockey mom and wouldn't have degraded hockey moms if she thought it was a negative thing.
The term is now common vernacular for someone who is tenacious, strong-willed, a go-getter who doesn't take no for an answer.
I've been called in many times in professional situations (at work). Those people who have called me that also describe me as bubbly and very friendly...by calling me a pit bull I hardly think they are equating me to the 'media stereotype' of a pit bull (ie snarling, mauling evil person).
I totally think it's a compliment. What woman wouldn't want to be called tenacious and strong? good traits, IMO. Plus...my bully is my hero...I think we should all aspire to have 'some pit bull' in our personalities. :-)

I always tell people that I am as tenacious as a "terrier" and that's not a bad thing.
I think Stella looks hot with that red lipstick. Can you imagine if one of the major cosmetic companies picked up on that? - every dog loving PB owner would love "pit bull pink" lipstick.

IT wasn't a compliment.
While it was referring to
"someone who is tenacious, strong-willed, a go-getter who doesn't take no for an answer."
IT was promoting the "fighting" stereotype that pit bulls have along with the above traits. The use of the word "fight" and "fighter" in Plain's and McCain's speech are the points the RNC wanted to promote. IT's part of their platform in support of war and living ins so-called "dangerous world".
The Pitbull comment needs to be taken in context with Palin's whole speech and the Republican Platform.
It was not a postive compliemnt for Pit bulls, it was a"play" on the negative stereoptype.

And let's not forget:
Palin is pro wolf hunting for sport from helicopters.
She could care less about dying Polar bears...and seals.
She doesn't believe in Global warming and cares nothing about our environment.
Most animal welfare sites have spoken out against her since her nomination as the Rep. VP.

Really?
Someone needs to inform Newman of that 'fact'

One nice thing about this blog is that you let EVERYONE post, even people who don`t allow EVERYONE to post on their site.
I may be old fashioned but I`m not impressed with the language.
Most of us call it animal abuse not "duking it out"
When they choose to enter the pit and they can choose to leave,we`ll call it "duking it out"
